š Stage Distance: 1.37 miles
ā¬ļø Elevation Loss: 516 ft
šµ Estimated Stage Time: 3ā5 minutes
ā¬ļø Transfer Climb: 2.64 miles / 584 ft gain
š Location: Peavine Mountain ā Reno, NV
āļø Difficulty: Intermediate
šµ Terrain: High-desert singletrack
Reno Vista is a fast, flowing descent on the lower slopes of Peavine Mountain overlooking Reno and the Truckee Meadows. The trail winds through open desert terrain with loose decomposed granite soil, wide-open sightlines, and big views of the valley below.
The stage drops 516 feet over 1.37 miles, making it a short, high-speed run where momentum matters. Riders can build speed quickly in the upper section before the trail tightens up with a mix of corners, natural rollers, and small rock features on the way to the finish.
The climb to the start is a steady 2.64-mile transfer gaining 584 feet. It is mostly non-technical and follows a mix of dirt road and mellow trail, but the effort adds up. Like most Peavine climbs, it is exposed, dry, and best ridden at a steady pace to save energy for the timed stage.
Reno Vista rewards riders who stay smooth and carry speed. The loose surface can punish over-braking, so the fastest runs usually come from riders who stay light on the brakes, trust their tires, and keep momentum through the turns.
This is the kind of stage that feels short, but small mistakes add up quickly. A clean run can save a lot of time.
