๐ŸŒ… GOLDEN HOUR RACE SERIES

Everything You Need to Know

The Golden Hour Series is a grassroots mountain bike race series hosted by Grass Roots Racing Reno (GRRR).

Itโ€™s fast.
Itโ€™s after work.
Itโ€™s competitive but welcoming.
And itโ€™s built for our local community.

๐Ÿ“ Registration

Online Registration Strongly Encouraged

Online registration closes at 3:00 PM race day so racers can be loaded into the timing system before course marking begins.

On site registration is not available.

Why no on site registration?

Because:

It strains the timing system

It increases start-line chaos for volunteers

Pre-registration helps keep races running smoothly and on time.

๐Ÿ”ข Number Plates (Read This Carefully)

Your number plate is how we record your time.

If we cannot see your number at the finish line, you will not receive a time.

Plate rules:

Use the same plate all season

Mount it clearly on the front of your handlebars

Do not fold, trim, or modify

Make sure it is flat and readable

After the finish line:

Slow down

Make eye contact with the timing crew

Confirm they read your number correctly

If your number is incorrect in the system, your time cannot be fixed later.

If your plate is lost or damaged:
Contact Jeremy so it can be replaced and updated in the system.

Wrong plate = wrong results.

๐Ÿ† Series Points

Golden Hour is a Best 5 of 7 series.

Points awarded at every race

Your best 5 finishes count

Series Champions

One champion will be crowned in each class.

Prizes will be determined at the end of the season and awarded after race 7.

Potential rewards may include:

Free Golden Hour entries next season

Free entry to the One for All Enduro

Sponsor-supported prizes

Additional raffle tickets for the bike giveaway sponsored by Sierra Cyclesmith

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Bike Raffle

There are no weekly raffle prizes at Golden Hour.

Instead:

You earn raffle tickets at each Golden Hour race.

Those tickets go toward the bike raffle at the One for All Enduro.

More races = more chances.

โš ๏ธ Start Line & Racing Rules

30-second start intervals

2 Lines (One for beginners, one for everyone else)

Line up in appropriate row so there is less chance of needing to pass

Passing

Faster rider calls โ€œRider upโ€

Rider being passed yields when safe

No aggressive passing

๐Ÿค Sportsmanship

This is community racing.

Disrespect toward volunteers, unsafe riding, or poor sportsmanship may result in time penalties or disqualification.

These races only happen because of volunteers. Treat them well.

๐Ÿš‘ Safety

Helmets required

Stay on course

Respect other trail users

Race at your own risk

GRRR reserves the right to modify or cancel races due to weather, trail conditions, or permit requirements.

๐ŸŒ„ The Point of Golden Hour

Golden Hour is built for:

After-work adrenaline

Community racing together

First-timers lining up next to fast locals

Progression over ego

Itโ€™s competitive.
But itโ€™s still community.
